Maui GMO Taro ban passes unanimously

The Maui County Council voted 9-0 in favor of banning genetically modified kalo (taro) in Maui county

Bill 09-100 passed with a landlside 9-0 victory in the Maui County Council.

Genetically modified kalo is now banned in the two largest counties of Hawaii Nei (Hawai'i County and Maui County), including the five major islands of Hawai'i, Maui, Lana'i, Kaho’olawe, and Moloka'i.
