Join Kaua’i residents and island visitors who have shared their stories about why massive use of restricted pesticides is not good for our island, our people, and our ecosystems.

TELL KAUA’I COUNCIL MEMBERS WHY THEY MUST VOTE YES ON BILL 2491

Your story is important.  To be accountable to you, Council members need to hear from you.

Our Kaua’i Council members do not live in far away Washington, DC.They are our neighbors. Their kids grew up with our kids. They have children and parents who are also dealing with the approximately 18 tons of restricted pesticides applied on our island.  They have friends who live and work near the test fields.

Remind the council members that they represent the children and families of Kaua’i. Tell them that their highest responsibilty is to protect the health and safety of our people, the land, and the water.

Give them the facts that show why we need the Right to Know about pesticides on our island.  Urge them to show compassion for our people.

Remind them of that approximately 18 tons of Restricted Use Pesticidesare used on Kaua’i each year.  And that these toxic chemicals are often applied simultaneously in combinations that are unregulated and untested by any agency.

Tell the County Council that we will protect what we love, and that we will not allow our children and future generations to be used as test communities for pesticide exposure.
